The Power of a Dream

One life.

One child.

One woman.

One dream.

One job.

One heart.

A heart that rhythmically beats and accelerates,

accelerates at the thought of being a healer,

a life saver, life giver, a doctor.

A person who is given the task of helping someone,

someone whose life hangs in the balance of life and death.

A trusted person a mom, dad, child, husband, wife, sibling can trust.

Trust.

Trust to do everything in my power to restore happiness and balance in their lives.

I want to define the job,

not let it define me.

I want to be able to do a stellar job but at the same time show compassion.

I want to show people that I care for their loved ones just as much as they do

and that I will do everything in MY POWER to save them.

For now, this is still a dream.

A dream I work at to make a reality everyday in order to make a difference later.

For now, I dream about being in a hospital,

an operating room.

My place of serenity where all the loud chatter that is life is left outside.

Where I can focus on one thing and one thing only.

The delicate life on the table in front of me.

The life that depends on me to do what I do best - heal.

The thought of this makes the grueling years of school easier.

The satisfaction will be beyond rewarding.

So dad,

Thank you for being my number one supporter.

Thank you for pushing me when I didn't think I could go on anymore.

Thank you for being the rock when everything in our world came crumbling down.

Thank you for forgiving me about the countless times I've disappointed you.

Thank you for showing me unconditional love because now

now I'll be able to show just as much if not more care towards everyone I interact with.

Thank you for the countless miles you drive and the brutal hours of work you put yourself through in order to make MY DREAM come true.

My dream.

My passion.

My dream job.
