POISON
At the beginning of the year, I met a man named poison
Who looked at me and killed my sanity
But, he did not look nor smell like poison
He looked like the sky on a gloomy but sunny day
Bright but dark.
His poisonous intoxicated my brain, heart, soul, and spirit
But I still loved him.
I was naive.
I was hypnotized.
I was oblivious.
I was in love with the enemy.
He was my poison
Now, I look back at that moment and realize I was blind
I did not know men nor women could be so deadly
Until a poisonous man killed me.
This was a learning experience
This was an eye-opener
This was the beginning of womanhood.
