Poetry
A quiet scene, a hushed voice
Abandoned rooms and broken toys
A silence more deafening than the noise
Of the bomb dropped or a gun shot
A life that died and has been left to rot
Our cries unheard, our wails forgot
But a whisper remains, with some glimpse of poise
Cutting through lies and ploys
This government around us deploys
But perhaps it wasn’t all for naught
Keep preaching what our elders taught
Ignore the fake news the TV has got
