Please, oh, Please

Inconsequantial misdoings-

Unless you know the story.

Understanding doesn't bring clarity--

It brings pain.

A kiss snuck in the dark,

Innocent as anything,

Until the heartbreak sets in;

Until you have to tell another.

A knife dragged against tender skin,

A small mercy in an arduous life.

It should only affect the one with scars,

Yet her brother sits crying.

Deep set thought too frightful to be shared,

She won't tell a soul,

So no one can misunderstand,

No one but herself

"Please, oh, please, let me forget:"

The vain prayer of a girl who has gone too far

Without having gone anywhere at all
