Perception

I would change your perception,

My perception,

I would change the perception of the world,

I would throw out all the bad:

The diet pills, the steroids, the magical items that don't work,

I would change my own perception:

I look good, I am beautiful, I don't need to be someone else,

I would throw out People, US and all the media that tells me I'm abnormal,

I would hug my sister, my best friend, my uncle, and tell them, "you are perfect,"

I would look at myself in the mirror, I would tell myself, "don't change,"

Screaming to the world I would tell it, "don't change us, we are perfectly imperfect,"

I would change our perception,

tell the voices that whisper in our heads, "shut up, don't tell me to be something I'm not,"
