Pain from Bonds

Dedicated to my Aunt Barbara for whom this poem is about, may she rest in peace

 

Family can be friends too

When you share a bond,

You risk tears when they pass on,

You've let yourself be tamed.

 

To look with the heart is

To look with the feelings,

Not the eyes.

 

When you share a special family bond,

Unique to all the other ones

You risk certain tears.

 

 

For when they pass,

They are only physically gone,

They still live on in your hearts and minds.

 

To look with the heart,

Is the only way to find,
