The Other Me

Sometimes I show the real me
The one that no one ever sees
The one who doesn't know what see wants
The one who rarely ever talks
This me doesn't know what to say
She barely lasts the day, Before she changes to the other me
This me is the life of the party
She knows where her heart is and where she belongs
She has a place, a safehouse, a net to catch her when she falls
But she never does
Another me doesn't show her face
just hides behind the curtain that guards her life
She doesn't feel it's worth showing, but when you don't look, her face is glowing
Glowing with pride, glowing with light
But the smile takes all her might, and she's gone
The next me is exhausted, from everyone else
so she has no chance to be herself. She wears a mask over
her tired eyes, her teary cheeks, red nose, and her dry smile
No one suspects a thing
She can now be anything
She takes her time to choose, who she wants to be today
There's not much she could lose, not a price that she could pay.
She changes her personalitly, too many times a day
She doesn't remember who she really is, or what that girl is like
She could dig in her heart  and find her, but she doesn't even try
It's okay that she's alone, she's made it on her own
Her whole life has been a lie, but she's managed to survive
And no one can change her mind on life.
