one second

one second is all it takes
that can change a landscape of someone's own self portrait to destruct
chopping down layers in exposure to vulnerability in one heavy dagger
life that can be easily turned upside down in one instant
no matter how hard
a woman stands tall
her knees buckle by her husband's ongoing vicious cycle of abuse that he never broke when he was a kid seeing his mother being punched in the face by his step daddy
his real daddy was busy playing santa clause to his other kids
when you unscramble santa, it's really satan
his central color code is red like the devil
his constant physical, mental, and spirtual torments from the one below ostracize her
in front of her children with no remorse as if they didn't even exist
she can only take but so much
so instead of seeking God to help her escape from the imprisonment of her walls that's caved in on her
she used her own might one night when her husband came home drinking away his pain by choking her against the wall
she cocked and squeezed
pulled the trigger,  P O W!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that moment of silence was a pause
before the 911 call was made
knowing that her life is over because instead of a strong prayer life, she listen to the lust of the flesh that feeds its own appetite to solely her
she stared at the phone
permitting her eye balls to roll around
to dial a number that was never called because the gun won the battle
she lost the war
the children hearts were racing with undeniable fear
crying waking up next to the man that's dead
all it took was one second
had she cried to Jesus, He wouldn't take one second
Jesus's time will always be the right time
too bad she didn't wait one second to find Him
