Once A Sweet Flame

You were the devil in disguise,

so my love for mystery and mischieve was sweetened.

When former friends  were disgusted with your

new candy coating,

I grew to like your unfamiliar taste.

And the icing on the cake was your smile.

It still reminds of the nights I wanted my thoughts not to be the only thing

you were deep into.

But now I know our sugary past has dissolved,

and all I can do is move on and remember

how you were once a sweet flame that burned

in my heart.
