Ode to the Volvo

I must express my merry content for a car that’s given me so many events

Through the smell of dog hair and that dirty sock we could never find

Every time I see your dusty exterior

I’m taken me to another time

I do complain of the smell

From the wet dog that has many a times sat in the back

On the way from the beach

However this pungent odor is not something I actually hate

Instead it’s a symbol of all the times that were great

It can be annoying when you are broken

Especially when the window wouldn’t open

But you know how much I adore

Your broken left door

These trillion thorny traits give you character

And they have never caused me pain, only laughter

It gives me strength to see how you’ve persisted

When I have tough problems to solve

I understand nothing is impossible if you can still drive unassisted

Then my predicament begins to dissolve

You have so many memories stored inside you

Carrying the monstrous christmas tree across town

Even though the christmas tree resisted

You didn’t let us down

You are a funny, quirky, sticky old car

Many say we should give you away but know I love you anyway
