An Ode to an Uncle

An Ode to an uncle

By: Hannah Beasley

You died doing what you loved; Playing basketball

Your tall lanky body was always perfect for the sport

You died happy

You died wearing some trashed kicks that you only played ball in,

Because you knew you couldn't scuff up a single pair of your 70 dollar shoes

You died happy

You died never knowing you’d never become a NASA engineer

You died happy

This poem is about:
My family
