Nowhere
She pulls up to my drive
At half past five
I meet her gaze with puffy eyes
And look back down at my thighs
She sings my favorite song for me
But ends up souding like a banshee
I start to crack a smile
The first one in a mile
She takes the backroads to nowhere
The wind combs through my hair
The tar makes me feel whole
My home is where the tires roll
We're just killing time
The air is theraputic, like thyme
Our laughter is like a cure
For having to endure
As the road transcends
The stars become our friends
They guide us to another life
One filled with harmony rather than strife
When the rain comes down
We can't hear a sound
We're too busy reminiscing
About the days we believed in wishing
As we drive back to reality, I don't give a care
My heart will forever live in nowhere
