Not A Princess Anymore

Why is daddy so afraid of losing his princess to tattoos and piercings?
They make her feel free
Her body is her canvas
Free to make boldly lit marks
You still see a little girl who needs you to protect & love
Oh dad she still needs you, but not like a helpless child
Father, why do you have to be stuck in the old ways of the world?
Let her become that punk princess her heart desires!
She's sad enough everyday, wondering when she can be herself for a change
18 is the lucky number
A day to the gateway of a purpose
Love her with these angel bites, and tattoos
It's all she ask of you
Be content with a punk heart in this southern body
She just not your version of a princess, you see.
