Not Bad

.

pain, tears, and suffering

disappointment in yourself

and others’ disappointment in you

anger, hurt, and screaming

disrespecting yourself

and others disrespecting you

but that man on the street corner,

how did he get there?

it is winter, he is shivering

buy him a bowl of soup

give him your jacket

he gives you a smile

with so much gratitude, kindness, happiness

. . . why were you complaining before?

and those dandelions growing in your yard,

why do you pull them out?

they bring beautiful bursts of yellow

a happy color, a wonderful sight

make a crown of dandelions

lie down in the gorgeous green grass

you are a part of nature

. . . why don’t you come outside more?

Learn new things, try new foods, make new friends

Explore.

Help friends, help strangers, help animals

Give more.

The world is so big, your problems so small

Please look at the good parts, you can always find more

Bad times may come, but they never last

Though we all have bad days, life is not bad at all
