No World At All

Sat, 04/16/2016 - 00:15 -- Tiaw98

Looking around at what was once Earth -
Now lifeless, silent, and still.
The Earth begins to shed its silent tears
on its desolation.
I look up to the colorless sky,
so dark, so gloomy.
People trudge the empty streets with bowed heads
as the rain falls.
There's nothing left to look at,
nothing left to enjoy.
There's no more creativity or imagination,
No more ideas or self expression.
Life's masterpiece is the art of earth
It expands way beyond a school classroom
It's not just Pollock's splatter, Picasso's cubes or Warhol's soup.
It's the rising sun shinning through the window as the rays glisten on my face,
It's the drops of warm water and sudsy soap that cleanse my body.
The chiseled detail of my spoon,
The preparation of my meal,

Stylish clothing with a bag to match,

Details of keys to match the perfect lock
Where would I go if art didn't create such complicated roadways and traffic signals?
To a job ? To stores? To shopping malls?
Whose building wouldn't exist without the art of landscaping and architecture.
Trapped inside the mind with no new creations.
How can one live in a world that's dead?

A life without art wouldn't be a life at all.
