"No Homework"

Good ole' teach, how you are so blind

Your students with "no homework" excuses are in a bind

They could have understood it

But they could not concentrate over the sound of their parents fighting

They could have had it finished

But their peers ripped it up

They could have been top in the class

But their confidence was destroyed

They hide behind lies

To save you from hearing their cries

So don't say there are no acceptable excuses

When these "no homework" students live with these bruises
