Nightmares

The nightmare digs into me

and I wake up with claw marks on my skin

Claw marks going up my skin

I feel the marks ever so slightly

The pain from my touch causes me to shiver

The marks are going to stay

Maybe not as visible

But whenever I look down I will remember

Remember the terror and the fear that nightmare put me through

The scars that came with that nightmare will stay

On my body til I die.

These scars can be beautiful.

Though they come from tragedy

I can make them beautiful.
