The Neverlasting Sphere

Location

Our Earth is indestructible.
We are 7 billion strong with numers on the rise.
Day after day thousands are born.
Is there no end to our reign?
Greed is our motto
as we consume to no end.
When will we reach our limit?
We crowd the cities, the villages, the slums
the places where disease runs rampant.
We are an infection that continues to spread.
What have we done?
Oh, what have we done?

Our Earth is indestructible.
We are titans of an industrial age
as we build factory upon factory
and cut down tree after tree.
We burn oil, coal, and gas
to fulfill our undying desires.
Week by week and year by year
the fog does envelop our towns.
As the temperatures climb
we turn a blind eye.
What have we done?
Oh, What have we done?

Our Earth is indestructible.
We roam like savages and are masters of the land.
We fight for what?
Is it for pride, victory, or just pure bloodthirst?
Wars ravage our scorched lands leaving
many a human with blood on their hands.
Genocide after Genocide does occur.
Germany, Cambodia, Rwanda,
How many more?
First swords and guns, now nuclear bombs.
What have we done?
Oh, what have we done?

The Earth is indestructible,
but perhaps that is just an illusion.
It continues to give and give,
yet we continue to take and take.
Earth has nourished us for centuries,
Shouldn't we give back?
Change is imperative
unless we want an untimely demise.
