My Superhero

The day I saw my superhero first cry Was the day that she deployed That wall she had built ten feet high Cracked until it was destroyed And when she came back with fear She killed her sorrows drink after drink It was like she wasn’t here It was like she didn’t think Her inner demons ate away Memories of that desert sun The pain got worse day by day The demons had finally won She became loud and wild Yet so afraid and alone Now she was the child But this time I had grown As hard as we all have tried It is now her own battles she must fight The villains are trapped inside My superhero has found her kryptonite
