From My Skin, To Yours
I have a message
From my skin,
To yours.
You are worth more than the makeup
That rest heavily upon your face.
There is no need to put space
Between your blood
And your skin.
Just let the emotions flood
Into poetry,
Not scars.
This is a message
From my skin,
To yours.
You are worth more than the names
You are called.
You, my friend, are far from lame.
We are the same,
Trying to be perfect
In an imperfect world.
This is a message
From my skin,
To yours.
There is no need to mark
Tallies on your body,
Like you are made up of paper.
You are not made up of the fragments of who you've been called,
Or the way you appear.
You cant just disappear.
You are beauty
On a cloudy day.
You have a heart beat
That never seems to fade
And skin that doesn't want to bleed.
You have eyes
That want to see
And perhaps not cry.
You have places to go
That are far beyond the darkness
That rest in your head.
This is a message
From my skin,
To yours.
Put your demons to bed
And stop acting dead.
You are beautiful
Inside and out.
It’s time for you
To turn the lights on
And quit the pout.
You are worth more than
Your three A.M . Thoughts.
You are not a weed
In a garden of flowers,
You are a blooming flower
In a garden of weeds.
You just need a little water.
This is a message
From my skin,
To yours.
Let your skin be,
Open your eyes to see
You for what you truly are.
You are the sun
On a storming day.
You bring joy
And do not deserve to be played like a child’s toy.
Leave your wrists clean,
Become who you want to be.
You are not what this world makes of you,
This world is what you make of it!
If you want to stand
Ten feet tall,
Dont be afraid to fall.
And if you want to be the next,
Marilyn Monroe
Then baby put on a show!
You are what you choose to be.
You are not the cuts on your skin,
Or the pain in your heart.
You are the smile on your lips.
You are the laughter in your voice,
And you are the blissful joy
Of what this world should be.
This is a message
From my skin,
To yours.
Just lift up your sleeves
And let your skin heal.
Together we can kiss these razors
Goodbye.
