My Pack

Rushing, rushing, rushing

the current in my mind

a constant reminder of the light I cannot find.

Freezing blue water,

turns my heart cold

my pack has forgotten of the "I love you's" I once told.

I hear my group dancing and howling under the moon,

I wish I did'nt abandon the pack I had so soon.

The river is so cold

it's pushing me back,

I feel myself start to tire

will I escape before my mind fully cracks?

My legs give up and I feel myself start to sink,

but I'm tossed onto the banks before I could blink.

Mother wolf stands before me

and around my pack yips,

for now I know I won't be alone on this trip.

My pack brushes against me

and keeps me up-right,

their loving encourages me to not end my fight.

A warmth enters my heart

the river starts to slow

I thought I was abandoned,

but I was wrong and I know.

See wolves are family creatures,

they live in a pack

and I'll forever remember

that my pack has my back.
