My Last

You’re not my first,

 but you’re definitely my last.

I’ve been through a lot of heartache,

but that’s all in the past.

It’s nice how you make me laugh

at the worst of times.

You make me smile so hard,

you’d think I’d have indented lines.

I’ve shown you the most damaged

parts of my soul,

and you continue to show me

how it shines like gold.

And when I share

hidden parts of myself,

I trust you to love the bits of me

I haven't shown anybody else.

Time has proven you’re the one

who knows me the best,

because when we are together,

I forget the rest.
