The journey of a thousand miles begins with only one, 
So listen up my daughters, lend me your ears my sons. 
I've traveled miles and miles for the sake of self discovery, 
Hoping that one day somebody would discover me.
Containing all the answers to the questions that I ask,
Never thought I'd come face to face with a man behind a mask.

The magnificence of our chemistry was beyond awe inspiring, 
It engulfed my soul taking me over entirely.
Leading me to places that I never thought I'd be,
Showing me wonders of this world that I never thought I'd see.

Our obstacles transformed into adventures so grand
We tackled them together; side by side, hand in hand.
Until one day we came to a complete stop, the journey was over. 
Later in life I became cognitive that this was the future.

I asked for my companion to be umasked,
I didn't know if I was ready, and for him it was a task.
The suspence thickened and the plot was twisted,
Never in those years did I ever feel so distant. 

As he unveiled and his identity was revealed,
My mouth dropped open but heart was sealed.
The man behind the mask was yours truly,
Never to be seen.
The man behind the mask was most definitely, me.
