My Cell is a Fire

Bars around me

Far too wide

I see their eyes

flashlights in my crosshairs

the fire is burning

inside my cell

i hold the keys

i cant seem to throw them

every road behind my chucks

has lead me further

into a maze

of cars and trains and planes and shields

how can i escape

why should i try

the fire brings me warmth

i forgot my coat anyway

no i think im fine

looking through to the outside

i dont need these bars

baracade me, please

but i wait too long

to rest my eyes in moment

and i see you rise

your steady shoulders broad

shut, please shut

i scream to my hands

obey my commands

obey my tyranny

but the movies don’t end

my eyes begin to flood

this cell was my home

it is now dust

the moon begins to blind me

and the eyes i see burn

and the clothes are torn

and the wind speaks

the air is deafening

throbbing my atrium

stay away

hold on

leave

stop

go

my cell is a fire
