My Ceiling
Location
somewhere amidst the wreckage
United States
See map: Google Maps
On sleepless nights
When I lie awake
I often stare
Before I break.
I stare at you,
Oh ceiling, friend.
I stare to make
The nightmares end.
In deepest thought
I watch you glow.
Tattered beams
Of moonlight show
Your many patterns,
A deep mirage
I think I see
A pale visage.
But no, you're just
An empty ceiling
But oh, old friend
You mask the feeling
You know, the one
That haunts my sleep.
The memory I
Don't wish to keep
Of long lost friends
And broken dreams.
In the night,
Much worse it seems.
So as I drift
Oh ceiling, friend,
Don't leave me till
It's at an end.
