My Books

By Jadie Reasland

To take my books away,

It’s like taking away my soul.

Yet it’s also like you are

Crushing my heart,

Soul to shatter.

It’s like I’m walking,

Yet I don’t know where

I’m going.

Books

Are like my soul,

My life,

It’s what makes me breathe.

When I don’t have books

Then I can’t breathe

I don’t know myself

Yet sometimes

I think that

I am part of the

Books themselves
