My Best Friend

She’s there for me through thick and thin,

No matter the state of mind I’m in.

When I’m down, she’s right with me.

I’m the lock, and she’s the key.

I’ve never had anyone like her.

Before we met, my life was a blur.

As for things that made me happy, I had nothing

Until she swooped in and took me under her wing.

I was fighting my demons all alone,

Then she came to help me; like the sun she shone.

I owe her my life. She pulled me from a place

Full of darkness that I couldn’t bear to face.

She helps me see that I have worth.

She’s sweet, loving, and down to earth.

She loves me more than I ever could.

Because of her, I’m feelin’ good.

She never fails to make me laugh and smile,

Being with her has been worthwhile.

I’ll love her until the very end,

She is, without a doubt, my best friend.
