Music is Everywhere

It is in the sound of my alarm

that wakes me up every morning.

It is in my mother’s voice

Greeting me as I come upstairs.

It is on the radio

Playing in my car.

It is the sound of students

Excitedly greeting each other.

It is in my bow

Striking the strings of my violin.

It is the whole orchestra

Playing in unison.

It is in the rain

Falling with a steady rhythm.

It is in the wind

Pushing and pulling the trees.

It is in footsteps

Of a little girl running to her mother.

It is in all the little things

You have to train your ear to hear.

It is what brings me joy

And a calm feeling.

It is one of many reasons

I praise and thank God.
