Mr. President

Location

I see the rain falling from the skies,

The leaves falling from the trees,

And the tears falling from my eyes.

I hear the innocence of a newborns cry,

And with those same two ears,

the violence and the questions why?

It is peace that everyone longs to know,

But to have it,

Brotherly love is what we must show.

The future lies in the hands of our young,

But all we have shown them,

is the answer to violence lies with a gun.

Let us guide them in a better direction,

And make that crucial correction,

So the world may someday see,

Their voices may be their strongest protection.
