The Most Beautiful Plant

The plans the worries the stresses the fears.

We all want to smile but some don't know how.

The ability was lost some time ago without realizing what we've done to ourselves.

We thought happiness was the pinnacle of our struggle and nothing more.

Superficial and fake, a goal rather than a state.

Hollow satisfaction with purchases and endeavors, aimless until we understand.

Understand why it is we are aimless.

Understand why we do things the way we do.

Our subconscious sets desires unknown to us;

only discovered when we stumble upon them by accident.

Happiness is hidden in what we do.

The days out with friends;

the thrill of  sports,

the divine beauty of paint on canvas,

the indescribable tone of music,

these all began as new experiences; a tiny seed mysterious and deep.

We plant the seed when we smile;  that odd fleeting electricity as our teeth show themselves.

The seed grows, and our mind checks back on it; making sure it's healthy.

Every smile, every memory we make refreshes our happiness and the roots grow deeper.

Our routines begin to involve the care of our happiness, and the roots are set; reaching deeper into our hearts  than anything before

Our thoughts flourish with vibrant color as we delve deeper into what it is that we've grown.

Fond memories hold strong and new ones are created with time, branching out to our actions and words.

This happiness is beautiful.

This beauty drives us.
