Moon Landing

Why should we care?

The ground tremors

And dust begins to rise.

Why, how starry eyed she is

Thinking she could sail the skies.

“Preparing for liftoff”

Why should we care?

She is nothing but

Her brother’s measly leftover,

Along with her little friends

Who are in no way better.

“5”

Why should we care?

She dares think to look down on the world,

How horribly rancid!

Her inventiveness is overemphasized

While she piggybacks off our advancements.

“4”

Why should we care?

To discriminate despite all our help,

What laughable gall!

That these girls think they’re special

Is incredibly risible!

“3”

Why should we care?

Egoistic is she-

It is not as if she suffers!

Why does she ask for more?

So weak, when others have it tougher.

“2”

Why should we care?

That she thinks she can ignore,

And not give us the time of day - what jest!

Perhaps she belongs in that frigid dark:

In there she’s better dressed!

“1”

We do not care at all, yet...

“Lift off”

Her smile glimmers,

Constellations map her eyes

As she sails home in the Artemis 11-

A giant leap for womankind
