Monochrome France

Bonjour, comment ça va?

I’m sorry, I don’t understand.

Ne me comprends-tu pas?

Whatever you want to say,

It must be important, I'm sure,

But please don't waste your time,

Because it’s nothing I can understand.

Winding through the streets of France

While seeing through a monochrome lense.

Trapped under a an impermeable dome.

A gunmetal sky and pallid clouds,

What the weather is truly like, I cannot tell.

Perhaps I should open up

And see what you have to say.

It’s better to make progress

Than decide to remain this way.

Let’s learn this language,

Discover this culture,

Enter this world,

Shatter this dome

which has contained me for so long!

Puis-je vous parler?

Yes, of course, or should I say,

Oui, bien sur?

Phenomenal, simply

Miraculous,

The polychrome view of life!

Please talk to me, I must know more,

About this wonderful, foreign place

I’ve been barred out of before.
