Modern Pandora

Thu, 07/11/2019 - 22:35 -- Kettle

Curiosity killed the cat -

Pandora would know.

A box or a jar,

Filled with things from below.

When told not to open,

She couldn’t hold back.

Then she released all the evils

That make this world black.

Destruction, despair,

Pain, and sadness.

Evil, and fear,

And torture, and madness.

But that is a story

From a long time ago.

No one believes it -

It still applies though.

Modern Pandora

Is just a young girl

Faced with temptations

That make her life twirl.

The peer pressure attacks

And curiosity presses on.

“I’ll only try one.”

But then she’s gone.

When told not to try it,

She couldn’t hold back.

Then she released all the evils

That made her world black.

Destruction, despair,

Pain, and sadness.

Evil, and fear,

And torture, and madness.
