Misconceptions of Us

In a modern tone of day and age

Goals and dreams become obsolete.

And appearances are the factors

That decide what makes us complete.

While unfair and unfairly placed

It is a hard stone fact

Our worth shall be judged

Like a societal contract.

But first impressions are

Almost always wrong.

But we can't help how it works

Even if it is a dreadful song.

Misconceptions of you,

Misconceptions of me.

Misconceptions of us,

All around us, can't you see?

But love and be loved,

We're all the same inside.

However different aspects that make you, you

You don't need to hide.

For these are merely misconceptions

Of the world and me and you.

Hate is inevitable, but

Hate what is wrong, not what is beautiful.
