Mirror
Looking at myself in the mirror,
I'm reminded of the time
The time I tried to dye my brother's hair.
Burning my eyes,
dripping,
There were dye stains on his forehead.
Where are the rubber bands?
Snap!
The crackling of my plastic gloves,
I fumble around for the instructions.
Please, keep your head straight.
Snap!
He wiggles around and slowly sways his head, side to side.
I look in the mirror,
I see the resemblence between me and my brother.
Who am I?
I am a big sister.
I am a young woman, ambitious for what awaits me.
In my brother, I see the loving and caring I posess.
Like the reflection of myself in the mirror,
family is never meant to cease.
My family is a
reflection;
I see me.
I see my flaws,
I see my strengths.
