A Message from a High Functioning Autistic

Can you drive?

Can you go to public school?

Can you learn how to play guitar?

Can you read a book?

Can you understand?

Can you follow directions?

Do you hear me?

So many questions.

I’m here, aren’t I?

I can do all these things.

What are you thinking?

Do you care?

What is wrong with you?

Can you-

Can you-

Can you-

So many questions!

Why does it matter?

Why are you concerned with what I cannot do?

What about what I can do?

Be in a play

Lead in a musical

Attend High School

Graduate College

Work in Corporate

Mother children

Grow old

You think I can only survive.

But I can thrive.

Just watch.
