The Meaning of Beauty

Location

Beauty is misconstrued in the eyes of society,

The unrealistic standard gives women anxiety.

Resemblance of Barbie dolls and models are expected,

Otherwise women are condemned and disrespected.

Forced to question our appearance and self-worth,

Led to disbelieve beauty is innate at birth.

In magazines and movies, it’s constantly seen,

But what does “beauty” actually mean?

It’s the acceptance and love for our traits and our looks,

No matter how different according to the books.

It’s the heart and passion that we possess inside,

That even society cannot override.
