maximum penitentiary

hands gripping
cell darkening
person caged in isolation
sounds of guard's feet walking slowly
eyes having a hard time getting past the fact
there are too many of us
All with the same outfit, same color exemplifying that you belong to them
and you weren't enlisted in the military
you weren't drafted to fight in the war against terrorism
i'm fighting against the corruption of the guards who pose more of a threat than inmates
liberty stripped away
humanity paralyzed with fear
There's is no such thing as
voicing out, you remain to be the voiceless with no rights
The Lord is waiting for you to
seek him for undying love knowing
That's how you got here
In the first place.
you want to speak, have your thoughts, have a strong prayer life
form that intimate relationship with The Lord in knowing God
in repenting all your hatetful sins honestly, and faithfully
there are basic guidelines
No phone calls unless facilitated by staff
No belongings unless thoroughly search by stripping down butt naked where your privacy is no longer private
No visitors unless scanned by upgraded technology
nothing else unless approved by the warden
watchful guards are hawking with evil eyes in the towers with different sets of eyes lighting what they don't see
Surrounded by black spiked fence, barb wires hovering the fence
With cameras attach in corners adjacent to the entrance and exit
eyes are everywhere. human flesh, and machinery
You are nothing but a number
they call you not by your name, but your number
you speak only when you're spoken to
penitentiary is not a rehabilitative place to seek counseling
you seek The Lord to direct you to a better place
and ask for forgiveness
based on what you do
You get what you deserve
nevermind the political propagandas
historical facts of irrelevant averages and numbers written by the flesh
because they contradict
forget the fact whether or not you're set free
or remain in handcuffs
the pain and suffering can be unbearable
Locked down,
Beaten down,
exhausted from this type of culture that doesn't embrace and accept
instead continues to suffocate you with condemnation
what do you have
To help survive from the vicious attacks of the enemy
the answer is God
the answer is the bible that confirms all you need to know
because it tells the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth
don't need to rely on yourself
let The Lord be your defense attorney advocating for your rights
His sufferage was more dire than you and yet he rose from the dead
I Peter Chapter 3, verse 18 states
for Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust
that he might bring us to God
being put to death in the flesh
but made alive by The Spirit
you may feel like the last child behind in this world
but to God, you're one of his 1st children
the enemy will tell you to replicate
all based on the past reminding you
what you did wrong
others dressed like me.
Someone save me.
Someone save us.
there is someone that will save you
His Name is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit
and you feel that's a lie
not a problem
but instead of reading books from authors of the flesh telling their own perspective of life
read The Bible not as a book
speak to It
so It can speak It back to you

I like how the poem addresses the concept of a life without dreams as a cage of desperation. You can clearly see that Mr. MVP compares it to being imprisoned humanity, when either of those can't be freed without God. Very accurately penned, because a life without dreams would be aimless.

MVP-Most Valuable Poet

life without dreams with goals is lifeless

without Jesus, we are nothing

as He always , stop being slaves of sin

we have to set by example in showing people how to love and draw them closer to our Shepherd
