Math

Just the thought makes me tremble

To my core

Not knowing any more

Why I suffer through

The Honors class

Of this subject

That I know will cause my good grade to not last.

This fear

Consumes me.

Terrifies me.

Keeps me up at night.

“How will I get to college?”

“How will I get a job with a C+

In this dreaded math?”

But I keep going

Keep pushing

Keep trying.

Because I know

That I can succeed.

I will get into college,

I will get a job,

I will be okay.

I just have to keep trying,

And then I will achieve the ultimate goal:

An A in Honors Math.
