Masks

Location

I look in the mirror to see my face,

But I almost always see

just another hopeless disgrace

So I put on a show to make them think I'm fine

and I put on my mask

to hide how much I've cried

But sometimes I see what's really there

the girl with the loving face

the color changing eyes, the dirty blonde hair

Sometimes I take off that mask

and let my inside self out

if you want to know me,all you have to do is ask

Yes, I am afraid

of what all of them will think

but their rain won't come near my parade

I won't let them change me

No matter how hard they try

I'm me, and that's all I need

to keep my head up high
