Here I lay,
Used to play,
Nothing but a few strings
To make me sing.
To make me play this tune,
To make me dance this June,
Like a puppet there hang strings
More a marionette under their control
Now to see what actions it brings
Treat me bad as they’re in control
There I lay yet again waiting for play,
the hands which sway.
The hands of day and dawn,
Leave and there a new form spawn.
I guide myself
Like no one else
I guide myself
Across the shelf
No longer a toy,
Just a boy.
Still controlled,
But with my own life to hold.
