Mari by: Jaay Dee Kayy (written on July 24th, 2021)

It's been three months and a day

Since they took your life away

Last night, I cried myself to sleep

Praying that your soul's okay

I prayed for comfort for your family

Comfort for all your friends

And I prayed justice will be served for you

It was such a tragic end

Ever since your death I view gun violence

With a brand new heart and eyes

And I hope you know how much your life and death

Affected all our lives

Omari, I'll love you forever

Until heaven turns to hell

Beloved brother, please rest in peace

And I pray your soul journeys well.

One year later I get the news that Camaya got took away,

First thought I had was to check and see if her mama was okay,

I got a flashback of us all playing softball with the gang,

Who would've thought you wouldn't live long enough to see our kids play?

(Who would've foreseen this pain? Why'd they take your lives away?

I'm not okay.. we're not okay, but it'll be okay...

It's gone be okay, gang...) x2

Later on that year, I found the meaning of love,

It comforts me to think you're watching me from above,

Mari, Maya and Yaayo

I love you. We miss you. And its B5 World til the day we die!
