The Marble

A little marble

Found by a young boy on the stairs

Interest is found for a little while

Then, not lost,

The interest diffuses

But the boy still keeps it

On his desk

Drawings turn to multiplication problems,

Multiplication turns to research papers

But through it all the marble sits

The boy looks fondly now and then

Remembering his childhood

But not regretting progression
