Many Dreams,One Job

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

"An artist," I innocently answered my parents at four years of age.

"What do you want to be in the future?"

"A nurse," I boldly said at a class career showcase at six years of age.

"What's your future career goal?"

"A lawyer," I plainily answered a worned lady at 12 years of age

"...Or maybe a scientist."

"What is your inteded future career goal?

"An oncologist," I determinantly convinced myself and others on my club application.

Society pressures the young to decide their life in an instant-

To choose one career that will satisfy them.

Even though I am in my college years,

I still not have chosen one dream-one job.

Instead I want many dreams to define me and my one job.

I want to heal and nurture the hurt.

Discover the cause that ails them.

Paint their life in a new direction.

Fight for their right to a happier future.

I want to be a doctor.
