Love and Let Love

Thu, 01/30/2014 - 18:01 -- CatCam

There is an old saying:

Love comes in many forms.

But why is being gay

Excluded in that love?

“It is a sin!” they shriek.

They throw slurs and death threats.

Souls are trapped in closets,

In the dark, full of fear.

“They will ruin marriage!”

Another horrid claim.

Funny thing, marriages

End over half the time.

Maybe gays can show us

What true love really is.

Let them walk down the aisle

And with tears, say “I do.”

I have friends, many friends,

That cannot kiss their love

Without fear of hecklers

And attacks of sick hate.

Many often shatter.

Some pick up the pieces

And glue them back again.

Most get cut by the shards.

Leading those boys to fall

Just because they kiss boys.

Making girls hate themselves

For merely loving girls.

Isn’t that the real sin,

Hating the ones that love?

God has always told us

To love people, not hate.

The ones that you frighten,

The gays, the lesbians,

They just want to follow God.

Love. That is what they want.

Please allow them to love.

Let them leave their closets,

And brush off the mothballs,

And hold their loved one’s hand.

It is not wrong to hold.

It is not wrong to kiss.

It is not wrong to love.

Someone of your gender.

Love is blind and boundless.

It has no bad or sin.

God does not care. He loves.

All love is good and pure.

Please end the harmful hate.

Let boys in love hold hands.

Let girls in love show it.

Believe me, God won’t mind.

There is an old saying:

Love comes in many forms.

But why is being gay

Excluded in that love?
