The Looking Glass

Location

Dawn by dawn turns to day,

Peering through the looking glass,

Mirror without mirror, form without form,

That is the looking glass

Filled with wonder, fear, and hate,

Open one’s eyes to faintest hope,

Giving form to mindless feelings,

Mirror without mirror, form without form,

That is the looking glass

Day by day turns to dusk,

Peering through the looking glass,

Mirror before mirror, form before form,

That is the looking glass

Gazing through the depths of the soul,

As if it were not one’s own,

Giving form to helpless thoughts,

Mirror before mirror, form before form,

That is the looking glass

Dusk by dusk turns to night,

Peering through the looking glass,

Mirror by mirror, form by form,

That is the looking glass

Baring one’s hidden soul,

For the world to see,

Giving form to finished piece,

Mirror by mirror, form by form

That is the looking glass

Night by night turns to dawn,

Peering through the looking glass,

Mirror within mirror, form within form,

That is the looking glass

Filled with joy, peace, and hope,

A new day rises on one blank page,

Giving form to pleasant rapture,

Mirror within mirror, form within form

This is the looking glass.
