Long Distance

Location

It's in his too-mellifluous voice,

His too-intense gaze,

Causing this piercing noise,

Lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub.

Is this euphoria I feel?

My heart dances with fear,

I don't want to back down,

I want to let my heart steer.

He stands miles before me,

Ocean after ocean,

I just want to flee,

I can't handle this emotion.

I don't want to break down,

Can I handle all the years?

Optimism is key,

Or at least that's what he told me.

Forward, forward I go,

Not knowing where to go,

I yearn for his presence,

That is all I know.
