The Lonely Girl

On the outside you see
A girl who’s fearless as if nothing could break her
But in reality
This girl looks back and sees her life as a blur
She’s broken and torn, mentally bruised and beaten
For goodness sake
She’s lost her two best friends, a mother and grandmother both who were weakened
What more could you take?
She smiles through the pain
So no one can see through to how she actually feels
She sits silently in agonizing despair and just tries not to complain
There’s children who have it worse, who don’t even have meals
I don’t deserve sympathy so I use it as motivation
Motivation to make my loved ones proud
Although I still can’t bear my separation
From the woman who brought me into this world, I have now vowed
That this life of a lonely girl is going to mean something someday.
