The Light

Stranded amongst the trees and sand,
There would be only one that I'd demand.
I'd be fine waiting there until the end of time,
If she could give her love to me,
Sitting at my side.
An empty island would become paradise,
As long as I could look into her beautiful pair of eyes.
I'd need to see nothing else for miles and miles,
As long as I could see her glistening smile.
But her love is not all that would come with her presence,
A sense of urgency and strength would enter my soul,
I would now want to conquer the island,
And make her a queen to a king so bold.
She'd give everything within her for us to thrive,
And I'd give more than my life for her to survive.
Her love made true happiness real for me,
When there was no hope and no reason to believe.
She has become my light,
Without her,
Everything would be dark.
So I treasure her,
And always hold her close to my heart.
She brought value to the idea of finer things,
And, in her, I see my life's hopes and dreams.
A reason to try,
A reason not to cry,
And if I ever lost her,
The best parts of me would die.
Only she could possibly bring these parts of me out. She's the shower of rain that would save me from an everlasting drought.
With her and her love I am oh so well endowed,
So I will love her with all that I have and more,
For as long as this life will allow.
