The Lies Not Seen

Every night I wait for you to come back

You promised to never leave me again, over and over

When you finally waltz in the door you reek of crack

Today I try to ask why, you respond by giving me a smack

The bruise forming looks like a clover

Tears roll down my cheeks

I am sincerely afraid of you

So afraid, my knees are weak

Our relationship had hit a peak

Every lie you tell makes me blue

Obviously it didn’t mean anything

You said that you loved me

I finally realize to you I’m nothing

Yet you are my world, my everything

But we will never be

Now I sit wondering why you lied

You made me tumble and drop my guard

So many tears for you I cried

You took away all my pride

You played me just like a card
